Dedication of Wall Plaque to Honor the Civil War Troops Trained at Camp Delaware

 

127th O.V.I. African-American Troops on Sandusky Street in front of the Hotel and the home of Benjamin Powers.  The home built by William Little was razed in 1868.  The barrels are filled with salt. Photo taken ca. 1864.

Following the dedication, Civil War Re-enactors will march down Sandusky Street to Oak Grove Cemetery.  They will lay a wreath at the tomb of fifteen unknown African-American Civil War soldiers who were trained at Camp Delaware
